Cost Estimates

Costs will depend on how many legs you’re joining for and whether you’re renting a vehicle to drive. All prices are in NZ$. Currently $1 NZD = $0.60 US Dollars.

Meals

Event partners will cover lunches and dinners.

Accommodation

We’ve pre-arranged block bookings at hotels at each location along the way. Note that these estimated amounts include all nights of the legs you select, including the night before and the night after driving.

Vehicles

There's no additional cost if you’re joining us as a passenger or bringing your own vehicle. However, if you want to hire one of the incredible Trekker Adventures 4x4 vehicles and share half the driving with a fellow member of the convoy, these start at $105 NZD/day (or $210 NZD/day if you want to be the sole driver), plus insurance.

Ferry

If you’re traveling with us from Auckland/Wellington to Queenstown as a passenger, we’ll take the ferry across the Cook Strait ($67 NZD passenger fee). If you’re bringing your own vehicle or have rented a 4x4, there is a vehicle fee of $182 NZD in addition to the passenger fee.

Registration

Your Registration fee ($500 NZD) covers management of the event. This is a complex event which involves coordinating meals, hotel  accommodation, vehicles and ferry crossings, which this fee helps cover (the rest is generously supported by sponsors).  You will receive further communication from event staff to confirm your choice of hotel and pay the affiliated event costs outlined above.
